Exterior Detailing in Barrie, ON
We restore your vehicle's shine with hand washing, paint correction, and protective sealants that last.
What's Included in Exterior Detailing
We start with a thorough hand wash using pH-balanced soap that won't strip existing wax. Every panel gets individual attention. We clean wheels, tires, and wheel wells separately so brake dust and road grime don't contaminate your paint. Then we clay bar the surface to pull out embedded contaminants you can't see but definitely feel.
After that, we polish the paint to remove light swirls and oxidation. You'll see the difference immediately. We finish with a paint sealant or wax (your choice) that protects against UV rays, salt, and whatever Barrie winter throws at you. Chrome trim gets its own polish. Glass gets streak-free treatment inside and out. If your headlights are cloudy, ask about our Headlight Restoration add-on.
We're not a drive-through car wash. This takes time because we do it right. Most exterior details run two to four hours depending on your vehicle's size and condition. We serve Barrie and nearby areas like Innisfil and Springwater.
Why Your Paint Needs More Than a Wash
A regular wash removes dirt. It doesn't remove the bonded contaminants that make your paint feel rough. Tree sap, industrial fallout, rail dust, bug residue. All of that sticks to your clear coat and a hose won't touch it. That's why we clay bar every vehicle. It's the only way to get a truly clean surface before we seal it.
Polishing isn't just cosmetic. Light oxidation and micro-scratches scatter light, making your paint look dull even when it's clean. A single-stage polish brings back gloss and depth. We're not doing heavy paint correction here (that's a different service), but you'll absolutely notice the improvement. If you want long-term protection beyond wax, check out our Ceramic Coating option.
Paint Sealant vs. Wax: What We Recommend
Wax looks great and smells like a classic car show. It's natural, it beads water beautifully, and it lasts about six to eight weeks in Ontario weather. Paint sealant is synthetic. It bonds harder to your clear coat and lasts three to six months. It's more durable against road salt and freeze-thaw cycles. Most of our Barrie clients go with sealant for practicality.
We'll talk through both options when you book. If you're prepping for a show or sale, wax gives that warm glow people love. If you just want your car protected through another Canadian winter, sealant makes more sense. Either way, you're getting hand application and proper curing time.
Chrome Polishing and Trim Restoration
Chrome oxidizes fast in our climate. It goes from shiny to cloudy in one salty winter. We use dedicated chrome polish to remove that haze and bring back the mirror finish. Same goes for stainless trim and aluminum accents. Black plastic trim gets a UV protectant so it doesn't fade to grey.
If your trim is already faded or your rubber seals are dry, we can restore most of it. It's a small detail that makes a huge visual difference. People notice when your door handles and window trim match the rest of the car. We also clean and dress your tires so they look new, not shiny-wet like a gas station spray.
Booking Exterior Detailing with Worth Detailing
We're based in Barrie and work out of a dedicated bay with proper lighting and ventilation. You can drop off or wait if you prefer. We'll walk you through the process before we start so you know exactly what we're doing. No upsells, no surprises. If we see something that needs attention (like scratches that need Interior Detailing or an engine bay that could use a clean), we'll mention it. You decide.
Pricing depends on vehicle size and condition. A compact sedan in decent shape starts around $150. A full-size truck that hasn't been detailed in two years will cost more. We also serve Oro-Medonte, Angus, and surrounding areas. Call or text to book. We'll give you a quote and a realistic time estimate.

Frequently asked questions
How long does exterior detailing take?
Most vehicles take two to four hours. A small car in good shape might be closer to two. A large SUV or truck with heavy oxidation can push four. We don't rush it. You're paying for the result, not the speed.
Will exterior detailing remove scratches?
Light swirls and surface scratches, yes. We do a single-stage polish that clears up most minor imperfections. Deep scratches that go through the clear coat need paint correction or touch-up, which is a separate service. We'll let you know what's realistic when we see your vehicle.
How often should I get my car's exterior detailed?
Twice a year is ideal for most people. Once in spring to undo winter damage, once in fall to prep for salt season. If you park outside year-round or drive gravel roads regularly, three times a year makes sense. If your car lives in a garage and you wash it yourself monthly, once a year is fine.
